Consumer confidence and property prices rise hand in hand in Spain, as growth rate reaches highest level for 10 years

Spain ,
  • Property prices up 5.4% in year to April 2018 (Tinsa)
  • New home growth picked up sharply towards end of 2017 (ST Sociedad de Tasación)
  • Balearic homes attracting particular interest (Taylor Wimpey España)

A new report from the ST Sociedad de Tasación, one of the largest real estate valuation firms in Spain, has shown that the average price of new and second hand residential properties in Spain increased by 4.3% over the course of 2017. New home growth picked up significantly during the second half of the year, rising to 2.3% from a rate of 1.7% for the first six months of 2017. The company’s Confidence Index has also ticked upward, with confidence increasing in the first quarter of 2018.

Figures from Tinsa reveal that the trend has continued into 2018. The price of new and second hand housing was up by 5.4% in the year to April 2018. It is the highest growth rate since Q3 2007, according to Tinsa.

Price growth in the Balearics has been particularly high, at 5.6% in the year to April 2018.

Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España reports that demand is also strong, with Mallorca properties proving particularly popular.

We’ve seen some excellent growth in the Spanish property market over the past year, with metropolitan areas and the Balearic and Canary Islands faring particularly well. Not only are prices rising, but also consumer confidence and satisfaction, which is excellent news for the market as a whole.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Customer satisfaction stood at 100% for the most recent month (March 2018) for Taylor Wimpey España’s Balearic properties, having remained well above 95% since late 2017. With resorts such as Marina Golf available, it’s easy to see why. The modern, Mediterranean-style village complex offers three-bedroom homes with south-west-facing private terraces and gardens, all surrounded by some of the islands top golf clubs. A generously proportioned communal pool with solarium area and golf course views, and delightful landscaped gardens, complete the offering. The last homes on the development are now key-ready, with prices starting at €549,000.

Also popular on the island is Acquamarina, a collection of two-bedroom apartments just 1 km from the sea and 6 km from the nearest golf course. Mallorca is a popular destination for golfers as well as for cyclists and, of course, water sports and beach lovers.

Spain’s economy does well from foreign property buyers, who are drawn to locations such as Mallorca for both second homes and primary residences. Visitor numbers were up 6% (to 13.7 million) in the year to March 2018, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The number of foreigners registering with Spain’s social security system was also up, by 8.1% over the course of 2017.

“Spain’s myriad attractions mean that it remains a popular choice for those looking for a better lifestyle, from families with young children to retirees. Brits in particular have a long-standing love of Spain, making up the largest proportion of visitors from any single country and the key buyer group for foreigners purchasing Spanish homes. With price-growth at a ten-year high, we expect 2018 to be a very strong year for the Spanish property market.”

Villajoyosa retains its five Blue Flags to remain a firm Costa Blanca favourite

Villajoyosa retains its five Blue Flags to remain a firm Costa Blanca favourite

Spain ,
  • Villajoyosa beaches attract tourists from around the world
  • Sunshine, sand and superb chocolate make for a winning combination
  • Taylor Wimpey España down to last few homes for sale at La Vila Paradis, after strong demand

The popular Spanish coastal town of Villajoyosa is celebrating its 3 km of glorious sandy beaches, having retained all five of its Blue Flag awards in 2018. The Varadero, Centro, la Caleta, Paradis and Bol Nou beaches were all singled out by the Association for Environmental Education and the Consumer (ADEAC) for their cleanliness, accessibility, health and safety and lifeguard provision. The news comes amid a record-breaking year for Spain, which saw the country net a global record-breaking 590 Blue Flags in total.

Located on the sunshine-draped Costa Blanca, Villajoyosa is a haven for those who love the beachside lifestyle. Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is a vocal advocate of the area, having chosen Villajoyosa as the location for its exclusive La Vila Paradis gated, now key-ready development. The frontline apartments and townhouses enjoy an enviable location, offering direct beach access, in addition to swimming pools, beautiful landscaped gardens and private parking.

“Villajoyosa has so much to offer to both second home owners and those looking to settle in Spain more permanently. The soft white sands that gave the Costa Blanca its name are complemented by a superb climate and a welcoming town environment. Central Alicante is just 20 minutes away, while the airport can be reached in half an hour, meaning that Villajoyosa is easily accessible from the UK.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

As well as proudly flying its five Blue Flags, Villajoyosa also has a reputation as one of Spain’s leading chocolate producers. The town even has its own Chocolate Museum, where visitors can enjoy a fascinating walk through the history of chocolate-making and absorb the wisdom of five generations of master chocolatiers.

In case stunning sandy beaches and some of Spain’s best chocolate aren’t enough, Villajoyosa also enjoys average water temperatures of 24°C during the summer months. The average day rarely dips below 60% sunshine, even over the winter months. In July, 80% of daylight hours are sunny, according to World Weather & Climate Information.

“Villajoyosa’s name literally means ‘joyful town’ in English, which really does sum it up perfectly. Long, sunny days on the beach are the ideal way to work up an appetite before meandering through the town and sampling its excellent restaurants, which showcase seasonal, local specialities. It’s the kind of place that captures both the heart and the imagination, which is why we only have a few properties left for sale here!”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

The high quality, key ready apartments of La Vila Paradis enjoy exceptional sea views, with balconies, terraces and private gardens providing owners with plenty of space to relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Prices start from €269,000 for apartments and €449,000 for townhouses.

Taylor Wimpey España achieves record fundraising total for Challenge 2018

Taylor Wimpey España achieves record fundraising total for Challenge 2018

Spain
  • Nearly £13k raised by ambitious Taylor Wimpey España team
  • Donations to be shared by The Youth Adventure Trust and Llar de memoria
  • Taylor Wimpey España extends huge thanks to all donors

Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is offering a huge vote of thanks to all those who helped the company smash this year’s Challenge 2018 fundraising target.

The money raised – some 323% of the team’s original target – will be donated in equal portions to the Youth Adventure Trust and Llar de memoria.

I’m thrilled to report that the Taylor Wimpey España team reached first position in fundraising in this year’s Taylor Wimpey Challenge 2018. This is an important event for promoting the work of good causes and helping to fund that work, so I’m delighted that Taylor Wimpey España was able to play such a leading role. Thank you so much to all those who donated to the Challenge this year!

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

The amount raised by Taylor Wimpey España is almost ouble that achieved in 2018. Meanwhile the total amount pledged by parent company Taylor Wimpey is a staggering £167,575 – the most ever raised by the annual Challenge event.

Taylor Wimpey España worked with suppliers, agents, employees, family and friends to raise awareness of the 2018 Challenge, selling T-shirts and holding a ‘solidarity beer event’ in the company’s Mallorca office. The main fundraising activity also saw the Taylor Wimpey España tackle Mount Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales and the third highest in the UK. Over the course of 10-13 May, the plucky team shot to first position in the Beast ascent hiking competition, beating 19 other teams, while also coming third in the 25-team Dragon ascent hiking and biking contest.

The two charities set to benefit from this year’s Challenge work tirelessly to support some of society’s most vulnerable individuals. The Youth Adventure Trust supports disadvantaged young people to build the skills, courage and confidence needed to meet the challenges of daily life. Llar de memoria works to support people suffering from dementia, providing activities and workshops in a day-care centre setting, as well as working with the families of those with dementia.

“It’s a privilege to be able to support two such worthy causes and to give something back, both in the UK and Spain. Having been a part of the homebuilding sector in Spain for 60 years, Taylor Wimpey España is a long-established presence in the communities in which we work, so it’s fantastic to be able to support vulnerable individuals in those communities.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Heartfelt thanks for the support from a wide range of companies, individuals and donors who can be found here.

Buyers now have a million more reasons to head to the “Garden of the Costa del Sol”

Buyers now have a million more reasons to head to the “Garden of the Costa del Sol”

Spain
  • 1 million new flowers planted as part of Estepona beautification project
  • ‘Garden of the Costa del Sol’ attracting international interest
  • Estepona homes offer exceptional value as prices rise across Spain

The Spanish town of Estepona has opened its doors to the world, after undergoing an extensive beautification process. Located in Malaga province, Estepona already offered plentiful sunshine, restaurants serving fresh, healthy Mediterranean dishes, superb golfing and a breadth of local amenities. Now, the town has enacted an ambitious plan to reinvent itself as the ‘Garden of the Costa del Sol,’ with notable effect.

Local people have planted as many as a million flowers around the town, while school children have planted trees and local artists have painted vast murals. The town council has also pedestrianised a number of streets, providing residents and visitors with more space to explore its charms on foot.

Estepona has always been an attractive location for homebuyers from overseas as a result of its excellent golf courses and coastal location. Now, the streets have been given new life with the scent of a million additional flowers – the visual impact is truly stunning and it’s been fantastic to see how the whole community has come together to make their town even more charming for all those who live and visit there.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Community spirit is something that has been lost from many English towns and it is refreshing to see it is still alive and well in Estepona. This was a key consideration when leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España was designing its latest project in the area – Green Golf. The private, gated development has been created to engender a real sense of community among residents, with facilities including communal gardens and shared pools.

Green Golf is also in keeping with Estepona’s recent beautification. Not only do the 3 bedroom townhouses overlook the rich natural beauty of Estepona Golf (where residents can enjoy special privileges on all facilities and services), but they also feature an abundance of beautiful shrubs and flowers for residents to enjoy. The buildings themselves are also in tune with nature, from the low-rise scale of the development to the natural ventilation system, solar panels and thermal insulation.

“We’re delighted to present such a visually engaging development at Green Golf, with its landscaping and golf and sea views. As house prices rise in Spain, many UK buyers are seeking out just these kind of idyllic homes to use as holiday properties and main residences, with one eye on their use now and another on their future potential.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Figures from the Spanish real estate analysts at Tinsa show that Spanish property prices increased by an average of 3.6% in the year to March 2018. However, they remain 37.2% below their 2007 peak. This combination of facts is tempting many buyers – both domestic and foreign – to move with confidence when it comes to Spanish property.

Taylor Wimpey España is working with UK buyers looking for holiday homes and primary residences that offer the potential for capital growth, and Green Golf is precisely what many of those buyers have in mind. The spacious, light-filled homes with their plush, high-end interiors are proving particularly popular as more and more buyers discover the charms of Estepona.

Mallorca property market hots up as pre-Brexit British buyers snap up second homes

Mallorca property market hots up as pre-Brexit British buyers snap up second homes

Spain
  • Reservations by Brits up 36% in past year (Taylor Wimpey España)
  • Prices in Palma de Mallorca up 14.7% (TINSA)
  • Total Mallorca reservations up 43% in last 4 months (Taylor Wimpey España)

Mallorca’s beaches aren’t the only part of the island hotting up. Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España, which celebrates 60 years of operation this year, has reported a notable increase in property reservations on the island by British buyers. While reservations on Mallorca overall are up 43% year to date, British growth stands at 36% for the same period.

Mallorca is enjoying a substantial and sustained increase in interest from British buyers. Many buyers are keen to establish their presence on the island – with either a second home or a primary residence – well before next year’s Brexit deadline.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Mallorca offers a blend of sunshine, beaches, mountains and leisure pursuits that appeals hugely to British holiday home buyers. Properties on the island are also attractively priced compared with those in the UK.

Stylish two-bedroom apartments are available from €238,500 + VAT at Taylor Wimpey España’s Acquamarina development at Cala D’Or. The spacious homes offer open-plan living that stretches out onto generous terraces for making the most of Mallorca’s climate. Communal gardens bursting with native plants lead to a shared pool for residents to enjoy at their leisure. Private porches and gardens complete the ground floor apartments, while the luxurious penthouses enjoy their own solariums with magnificent views.

Prices on Mallorca are responding to the uptick in interest, with TINSA reporting a rise in values in Palma de Mallorca of 14.7% over the past year. Indeed, property values across the Balearic Islands have risen by 10.5% over the last 12 months, according to TINSA. This represents one of the best growth rates of any Spanish region.

The potential for capital gains at such rates is of course another draw for British buyers, but many of those who buy do so simply as a result of falling in love with the island. Winding, mountainous cycle routes, sparklingly fresh seafood, a wide range of water sports and stunning beaches that invite endless hours of relaxation are a winning combination.

“Mallorca has something about it that captivates and charms. The island has long been a holiday hotspot for visitors from many countries, and remains a firm favourite with both German and British tourists. Those seeking holiday homes here are driving the market at a fast pace right now, with demand and prices increasing well ahead of Spain’s national average.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Buyers looking for easy access to the beach will enjoy Cala Murada at Manacor, on the island’s eastern coast. Just 150 metres from the island’s powdery white sands, the impressive townhouses offer delightful sea views, with private gardens and terraces ensuring that owners can soak up the sun while gazing out to sea. Cala Murada is home to just four properties, with this exclusive, gated development providing high end homes in a tranquil oasis. Prices start at €399,000 + VAT.

Spain celebrates record-breaking number of Blue Flag beaches

Spain celebrates record-breaking number of Blue Flag beaches

Spain
  • Spain leads the world with 590 Blue Flag beaches in 2018 (ADEAC)
  • Homes by Blue Flag beaches popular with buyers of all ages (Taylor Wimpey España)
  • Beachside living provides both mental and physical health benefits (Taylor Wimpey España)

If there’s one thing Spain does well, it’s beaches. Of course, there’s also the bountiful sunshine, outstanding cuisine, championship-quality golf courses, fascinating history and rich culture… but when it comes to beaches, Spain leads the world.

The latest Blue Flag awards from the Association for Environmental Education and the Consumer (ADEAC) have seen Spain receive a global record-breaking 590 Blue Flags.

The Valencia region alone is home to 132 Blue Flag beaches, while Andalucía boasts 97. The coveted Blue Flag status is awarded based on a range of factors, including accessibility, health and safety, lifeguard provision and cleanliness.

Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España is celebrating Spain’s continued position as the world number one for the quality of its beaches. With 60 years of experience in residential homes across Spain and its islands, the company is extremely familiar with the attractions of beachside living. Indeed, many of its homes are just metres from some of the Blue Flag beaches recognised in this year’s awards.

Seeing so many of the beaches that are home to our properties being awarded Blue Flags is a fantastic confirmation that we’re offering the top locations to Spanish property buyers. Spain’s beaches really are world-class and it’s great to see so many of these outstanding areas getting the recognition they deserve.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Taylor Wimpey España’s Blue Flag beachside offerings include the stylish, last remaining key-ready apartments of La Vila Paradis on the Costa Blanca, which boast direct access to Paradis beach. Priced from €269,000 + VAT, the two- and three-bedroom apartments enjoy exceptional coastal views, while residents benefit from swimming pools, private parking and beautiful gardens. Available from €449,000 + VAT.

Just along the coast, Arenal Dream also offers, as the name suggests, dreamy beachside living a mere 300 metres from the Blue Flag L’Arenal beach. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, available from €334,000 +VAT and which come complete with communal pool and delightful, landscaped gardens, boast high end interiors and ample terraces, as well as private underground parking spaces.

For those who prefer the Spanish islands, Royal Blue is sited just 200 metres from Cala Mesquida beach – another Blue Flag recipient. The large, elegant apartments boast fantastic views over the crystalline waters. Complete with Taylor Wimpey España’s signature combination of pool and gardens, the exclusive development of just 17 homes from €322,000 + VAT offers direct beach access for residents.

“Whether for family holidays, romantic getaways or happier, healthier retirements, beachside living offers a wide range of benefits. Being near the sea can have a marked impact on mental and physical health, which is one of the reasons that properties by the beach are so popular – and with a record number of Blue Flag beaches in Spain, homebuyers really are spoiled for choice.”

It’s time to hit the beach! Key ready properties in high demand from British buyers this summer

It’s time to hit the beach! Key ready properties in high demand from British buyers this summer

Spain
  • Home purchases by Brits in Spain at highest level for 10 years (Spanish Registrars)
  • Families seeking out key ready properties for summer use (Taylor Wimpey España)
  • Maximum day temperatures of 25/26°C typical by end of May (Holiday Weather)

The English climate has certainly provided plenty to talk about so far this year. After the ‘Beast from the East,’ April’s mini heatwave was a welcome relief. However, the unseasonable cold and pouring rain that followed it has driven many to look overseas for a more certain prospect of sunshine, with Spain being one of the main beneficiaries.

From family holidays to sun-kissed second homes, Spain is a perennial favourite with Brits looking for beautiful beaches, delicious cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. The widespread availability of affordable flights means that visiting even for just a long weekend is a realistic and largely hassle-free process. This has played a significant role in Spain’s continuing popularity with those looking to buy property abroad.

Despite the Brexit process, Brits still have a healthy appetite for Spanish property. During the last quarter of 2017, they accounted for 15% of all purchases by expats. That’s the highest proportion for more than a decade! So far in 2018, we’re continuing to see strong demand from British families. Many are seeking out key ready properties that they can begin using straight away, either as a holiday home or as a main residence.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director, Taylor Wimpey España

Figures from the Spanish Registrar’s Association show that expat demand is doing much to bolster the Spanish property market. There were more than 110,000 sales during the last three months of 2017 – the highest number for that period for three years. Of those, 2,384 were home purchases made by Brits. Over the course of the full year, British buyers purchased 9,114 Spanish properties.

Key-ready homes are particularly attractive to buyers with children at this time of year, according to leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España, as they can be used straight away for family holidays. The company is currently offering a range of key ready homes that are attuned to British buyers’ preferences.

On the Costa del Sol, La Floresta Sur offers the perfect blend of beach and golf access, backed by impressive mountain views. Meanwhile, over on the Costa Blanca, La Recoleta III and La Vila Paradis provide stylish, beachfront apartments with private terraces for soaking up the sun. All three sites offer generously sized pools and tranquil communal gardens, which are ideal for family holidays.

Nor is it just the Spanish mainland where demand is building for Taylor Wimpey España’s stylish homes.

“Mallorca is seeing a strong growth in interest from British buyers so far this year. Again, families are buying with this summer in mind, meaning that key ready homes are particularly sought after at present.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

At Cala Murada, four exclusive, key ready townhouses sit just 150m from the stunning beach, surrounded by native plants and trees. Meanwhile, golf lovers will adore the last few available units at Marina Golf, where views over the superb course are complemented by an outdoor pool, large solarium and landscaped gardens, with beaches, shops, restaurants and the elegant Puerto Adriano marina all just 1.5km away. Not only that but until the end of June 2018, furniture will also be included in the price with selected properties!

With Spain (Malaga) enjoying average temperatures of 19°C during the day in May, with average maximum temperatures of 25/26°C typical by the end of the month, according to Holiday Weather, it’s no wonder that this consistent, reliable climate calls out so strongly to British buyers at this time of year. Forget the April showers – it’s time to hit the beach!

Spain still top spot for Brits retiring to Europe

Spain still top spot for Brits retiring to Europe

Spain
  • Spain confirmed as “most desirable location” by new ONS data
  • Retirees charmed by sunshine, swimming and golf, along with Mediterranean diet (Taylor Wimpey España)
  • 41% of Brits in Spain aged 65 and above (ONS)

New figures from the Office for National Statistics have confirmed that Spain retains the top spot when it comes to Brits’ choice of European countries to which to move. Spain accounted for an impressive 37% of all British citizens living in the EU (excluding those in the UK and Ireland) as at 1 January 2017, according to the newly released figures.

“Spain continues to be the most desirable location for the three-quarters of a million Brits living in the EU.”

Jay Lindop, Deputy Director of Migration Statistics, Office for National Statistics

While two thirds of Brits living in the EU are aged 15 to 64, Spain attracts an older demographic, with 41% of British expats there aged 65 and above. The high proportion reflects Spain’s appeal to those in their golden years – something which leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España recognises well. The company’s stylish, thoughtfully designed homes have been popular with older buyers for decades and remain so to this day.

Spain has so much to offer those who are retired or approaching retirement. The Mediterranean climate and diet are well suited to those looking for a healthy lifestyle, while the medical system here is also superb. Wellbeing is a key issue and one that we build into all of our developments, from their on-site pools for exercise and relaxation, to homes on golf courses for those looking to enjoy the benefits of regular activity as they age.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

A study by the University of Pittsburgh, University of Nevada and University of California on the effect of exercise on the brain as we age found that elderly adults who regularly walk longer distances suffer 50% less cognitive impairment than those who are less active. As such, the combination of world-class golf courses and plentiful sunshine that Spain offers is certainly conducive to a healthy lifestyle.

At Le Caprice, in Benhavis, Marbella, residents can enjoy the natural light and beautiful views over the Westin La Quinta Golf Resort and Spa. The spacious, ground floor homes with gardens and deluxe penthouses are set within a gated community, providing a sense of serenity and security that Taylor Wimpey España has found suits older residents extremely well. The lush gardens and sizeable communal pool provide the ideal setting for a happy, healthy lifestyle, while the apartments themselves offer tasteful accommodation with plenty of room for visiting family members.

Meanwhile, keen golfers of all ages will be delighted by the bright, airy homes at the Costa del Sol’s Green Golf. With panoramic views over Estepona Golf to the sea, few locations in Spain offer such an idyllic setting. The 48 houses all feature three bedrooms and three bathrooms, along with spacious terraces. Landscaped communal gardens and pools complete the impressive offering.

“We design our homes to appeal to residents of all ages, from families with young children to retirees living alone or as couples. Generously proportioned terraces and spacious living areas mean that residents can enjoy the space as they wish, adapting its use to suit their particular lifestyle. We also take care to locate our developments appropriately, with the proximity of shops, health centres, schools and other amenities factored in at an early stage.

“As Spain remains the top choice in Europe for Brits living overseas, it’s important to provide accommodation that suits their preferences and budgets.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

In total, some 293,500 British citizens live in Spain, according to the ONS figures. As the country maintains its popularity – with working-age Brits as well as with retirees – so too will leading companies like Taylor Wimpey España continue to provide the services that the British community in Spain demands.

Homes fit for royalty as new routes launch to Puerto Banus

Homes fit for royalty as new routes launch to Puerto Banus

Spain
  • Royal Banus Marbella providing homes to be seen in at Puerto Banus (Taylor Wimpey España)
  • 30% of 18-24 year olds inspired by celebs when choosing travel destinations (FCO)
  • New flights launching from London, Birmingham & Manchester to Malaga (Primera Air)

According to new research from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 30% of 18-24 year olds draw inspiration from celebrities when it comes to choosing their holiday destinations.

Crowded as it is with A-listers, it is hardly surprising then that Puerto Banus draws in hordes of visitors intent on holidaying like the stars. Now, however, holidaymakers can live like their icons too, thanks to the stunning new Royal Banus Marbella resort from leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España.

“Puerto Banus is one of the world’s most fascinating locations for star-spotting, so we wanted to create a development that was reflective of the area’s charms. Royalty, superstars and billionaires aplenty grace Puerto Banus with their presence each year, so we decided to build homes that were fit for royalty – hence Royal Banus Marbella.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Built in 1970 by local property developer José Banús, the marina and upscale shopping complex of Puerto Banus is one of the glitziest destinations on Spain’s Costa del Sol. Superyachts and high end cars cruise through the area each summer, inspiring varying degrees of envy in those who view them.

Interestingly, despite its luxury image, Puerto Banus doesn’t have to cost the earth, either as a holiday destination or as a location for a second home. Primera Air is launching a €35 budget route from Manchester to Malaga later this year, having already launched routes there from London Stansted and Birmingham in March 2018. Malaga has been the airline’s most in demand destination, reflecting the area’s ongoing appeal.

For those who want more than a few days of celeb-spotting in the sun, the exquisite homes at Royal Banus Marbella will certain hit the spot. Available from €490,000 + VAT, the six exclusive penthouses and 18 contemporary apartments will feature designer kitchens, large terraces and spacious living areas. The penthouses will also include private solariums.

A central pool, surrounded by wooden decking, is ideal for soaking up the Spanish sunshine and achieving that star-worthy suntan. The development also features interior gardens created around modern, sophisticated designs. Marble tiling, floor to ceiling windows and designer kitchen appliances ensure that the interiors are as glamorous as the exteriors.

“Part of buying a property in Puerto Banus is ensuring that it’s a home that’s fit to be seen in. We’ve included signature Taylor Wimpey España elements in the site design to ensure that owners can enjoy a range of luxuries at a surprisingly affordable price. These are stylish Puerto Banus residences, just without the eye-watering price tag that means only movie stars and Sheikhs can afford them!”

“The golf industry has been well established in Spain for more than 125 years, with the first club here founded in 1891. It plays an important role in the country’s travel and tourism offering, as well as impacting on other sectors, such as housing.”

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España

Taylor Wimpey España is well placed to understand golf’s importance to the Spanish real estate sector. The company has an established track record of providing superbly specified golf properties in a range of popular destinations.

Andalusia has more golf courses than any other Spanish region, with the Costa del Sol being home to nearly 70 courses and clubs. Known as the ‘Costa del Golf,’ it is one of Europe’s largest golf resort clusters, featuring a range of internationally renowned facilities.

The spring and summer months are always a popular time for golfers to consider buying a second home in Spain and the just-concluded Spanish Open has helped to stir up interest in golf properties.

In The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort in Benahavis, on the Costa del Sol, Taylor Wimpey España’s Le Caprice development consists of 14 exclusive apartments, penthouses and duplexes that have been designed with discerning golfers in mind. The south-west facing development enjoys spectacular views over the golf course and the stunning Mediterranean coastline, with spacious, light-filled homes set in lush grounds. Private gardens and terraces, along with communal gardens and a shared pool make for the perfect properties for golf lovers. Prices start from €550,000.

A little further along the coast, at Estepona Golf, the brand new Green Golf development offers three-bedroom homes from €340,000. Panoramic views extend over the golf course to the sea, with large, south-facing terraces ensuring that golfers can make the most of the Spanish sun.

“The golfing industry in Spain is well placed to enjoy renewed attention, on both the mainland and popular island destinations such as the Balearics. The stabilisation of the industry identified by KPMG sets the scene for a strong few years for Spanish golf courses and resorts.”

On the island of Mallorca, just a few Taylor Wimpey España properties remain available at Marina Golf. The key-ready homes, priced from €549,000, include private terraces and gardens and high end interiors, right next to some of the island’s top golf clubs – perfectly placed for golf tourism’s resurgence.
